Above about Rs 12,000, you mostly pay for lighter weight, easier folding, a better ride and finishing. These are real, and they matter if you travel or carry the stroller up steps. They do not make a basic stroller unsafe, so do not feel pushed. See our checklist for any stroller first.
What you can expect
- Travel-friendly folds: compact, one-handed folds, and some that roll like a cabin bag
- Light but strong frames, often under 7 kg
- A flat recline from birth and an infant car seat that clicks on, in many models
- Better wheels and suspension, bigger canopies, and smoother ride on rough ground
Models that often show up in this range
As of October 2026, roughly. We have not tested these, and this is not a ranking.
- Chicco TrolleyMe: about Rs 15,000 on Amazon.in. It folds with one hand and rolls like a trolley, with a 15 kg limit, and is popular for travel.
- Joie Pact: about Rs 20,000 in one listing, with a flat-reclining seat from birth to 15 kg. One parent forum rated Joie's other models as good value among everyday strollers sold in India.
The very top of the market
Imported premium brands such as Bugaboo and Stokke are sold in India at much higher prices, often several times these. They offer excellent build and design, and many parents are perfectly happy with a much cheaper stroller. We did not find reliable Indian prices, so check an official Indian seller before you decide.
What to check at this price
- Is it light because it is small? Some travel strollers have small seats and baskets and are for short trips only, rather than daily use.
- Genuine seller and warranty. Buy from the brand or an authorised retailer. Imported strollers with no local service are hard to fix.
- Spare parts. Ask how long it takes to get a wheel or brake part.
- Car seat adapters may cost extra.
Who it suits
This band suits families who travel often, live up a flight of steps, or use the stroller every day for long walks and want a smooth, light ride.
Our take
Pay for the things you will use every day, such as weight, folding and ride quality. Do not pay for features you will never use. And remember that a cheaper stroller that you use safely is better than an expensive one that sits in the cupboard.
