At 25 weeks pregnant you are in the second trimester, with about 15 weeks to go until a 40-week due date. Weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, so this is roughly month 6 of pregnancy.
How big is your baby at 25 weeks?
Around week 25, your baby is often compared to a turnip. Fruit and vegetable comparisons are a friendly way to picture the size, not an exact measurement.
From the INTERGROWTH-21st international standard (University of Oxford), the median estimated fetal weight at 25 weeks is about 755 g. Most healthy babies fall between roughly 635 g and 925 g (about the 2nd to 98th percentile). Scan estimates carry some margin of error, so a number on its own is rarely a reason to worry. Our guide on reading the weight on your scan report explains more, and the baby weight checker lets you enter your own report.
The second trimester covers weeks 14 to 27. Many people find it the more comfortable stretch, and baby movements are often first noticed around this time.
Your body at 25 weeks
Sleep may get harder as it gets tougher to get comfortable. Side-lying with a pillow between the knees can help.
What is going on
Your growing belly shifts your posture. Aching in the lower back and hips is common, helped by hormones that loosen the pelvic joints for birth.
What can help
Try side-lying with a pillow between the knees, gentle stretches and warm showers.
