15 weeks pregnant: baby size, body changes and what to expect

At 15 weeks pregnant you are in the second trimester, with about 25 weeks to go until a 40-week due date. Weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, so this is roughly month 4 of pregnancy.

How big is your baby at 15 weeks?

Around week 15, your baby is often compared to a apple. Fruit and vegetable comparisons are a friendly way to picture the size, not an exact measurement.

The second trimester covers weeks 14 to 27. Many people find it the more comfortable stretch, and baby movements are often first noticed around this time.

Your body at 15 weeks

Your bump begins to show. You may notice a stuffy nose or small nosebleeds, caused by hormones.

What is going on

More blood volume can swell the lining of your nose, leading to stuffiness or nosebleeds. Gums may bleed when you brush because they are more sensitive.

What can help

Use a soft brush, a saline spray for the nose and keep up with dental care.
