11 weeks pregnant: baby size, body changes and what to expect

At 11 weeks pregnant you are in the first trimester, with about 29 weeks to go until a 40-week due date. Weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, so this is roughly month 3 of pregnancy.

How big is your baby at 11 weeks?

Around week 11, your baby is often compared to a fig. Fruit and vegetable comparisons are a friendly way to picture the size, not an exact measurement.

The first trimester runs to the end of week 13. It is when the baby's main organs and body systems start to form, and many people feel tired, queasy or both.

Your body at 11 weeks

Many people start to feel a little less sick and a bit more energetic. Skin and hair may change.

What is going on

As the placenta takes over making hormones, many people find nausea beginning to ease. Skin may glow or break out, and hair may feel thicker.

What can help

Gentle skin care without strong ingredients is enough. Ask your doctor before using any new skin or acne product.
